FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (FREDERICKSBURG, VA) -- March 26, 1999 -- The Alzheimer�s Association will hold a community meeting for the concerned citizens of Greater Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Prince William and Stafford counties on Monday, April 12, 1999 from 5:30 � 7:00 p.m. at the T. Ray Grissell Activity Center in Falmouth. Families, caregivers and those whose lives have been touched by Alzheimer�s disease can meet with staff members to receive individual and group counseling and support from 3:00 � 5:00 p.m. The Northern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer�s Association was founded in 1981 by caregivers to assist local families touched by Alzheimer�s disease and related dementias. Part of a nationwide network of over 200 chapters providing support and services to those diagnosed with the disease and their families, our services include:
4 million Americans are now living with Alzheimer�s disease. 14 million Americans will have Alzheimer�s disease by the middle of the next century unless a cure or prevention is found. Please show your support for eliminating this terrible disease and your commitment to improving the well-being of the community by attending the Alzheimer�s community meeting on Monday, April 12, 1999 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
