  • Launched website with 19,420 visitors.
  • Coordinated Memory Walk 1997 in Warrenton, Fredericksburg and Fairfax. over 1,000 walkers raised $90,000 to help fund programs and services in the Chapter's 11-county area.
  • Approved for grant funding totaling $67,750 from the Arlington Health Foundation. The grant enhanced the multicultural outreach initiativDementia Needs Assessmente and developed a dementia-specific needs assessment.
  • Provided more than 40 sessions for more than 400 familial and professional caregivers in the inaugural education and training academy (Dimensions of Dementia).
  • Raised more than $35,000 through the inaugural Celebrity Fashion Show, featuring television personalities, sports figures and radio DJs.
  • Raised over $40,000 for Chapter programs and services through the Alzheimer's Golf Classic.
  • Serviced more than 370 caregivers through 33 support groups.
  • Developed a 12-hour training program for 190 professional caregivers.
  • Provided funding to nine agencies in six counties to provide and enhance services for approximately 275 persons with dementia who attend adult day centers and receive case management services.
