Community Members Invited to Attend Special Afternoon Benefit Performance of Big Apple Circus
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 7, 2001
(FAIRFAX)---Local caregivers and their families will be among more than 1,500 community members who will head to the Dulles Town Center on Saturday, September 22 at 12:30 p.m. in Sterling, Virginia to attend a special matinee performance of the Big Apple Circus to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area. Big Apple Circus, a not for profit committed to kids and their families, takes place under an authentic Big Top Tent where audience members sit less than 50 feet away. Performers integrate aspects of traditional theater (i.e., original musical compositions, lighting, sets and costumes) with classical circus artistry including clowning, juggling, acrobatics and equestrianism. Oldies 100's Tom Kelly, who personally has experienced the loss and devastation that results from a loved one's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, is honorary ringmaster of the event. Tickets for this special afternoon benefit performance are $35 for adults and $25 for seniors and children under 12 years of age. Guests are welcome to enter the reception tent at 11:30 a.m., prior to the 12:30 p.m. performance time.
