Family Respite Center Offers Mind and Body Spa Day

The Family Respite Center is now offering a Mind and Body Spa Day every Thursday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington, Virginia. The eventful day begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m. and is designed for people in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or dementia and caregivers alike.

Mind and Body Spa Day provides a group therapy session led by a licensed, psychotherapist, an exercise program designed to improve circulation, flexibility, balance and body awareness, a coping skills session aimed at improving stress reduction and relaxation techniques, a cognitive stimulation program intended to improve problem solving skills and enhance memory, and a humorous story-telling session guaranteed to produce a hearty smile.

The program began January 14, 1999. The program fee is $120 per month or $30 per daily session. Please call Kelly French or Lin Noyes at the Family Respite Center for more details and registration (703) 532-8899.
