New Research trials in the National Capital Area ChapterThe Innovative Clinical Research Center in Alexandria, VA is seeking individuals to participate in an Alzheimer's drug study. The National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD is seeking individuals 50-95 years old who have been diagnosed by their physician as having Alzheimer's disease and are in the mild to moderate stages. This is a dose-finding study to evaluate the safety of the potent anti- inflammatory drug cyclophosphamide and compare it to the anti-inflammatory drug rofecoxib and a placebo. Persons in the study should not have other major medical illnesses or be sensitive to aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofin.
