A six- minute introductory video is now available to families, professional facilities, health care providers, social service agencies and any other individual or group that want to know more about the Northern Virginia Chapter's programs and services. We need your help in distributing and promoting this free video. The video can be shown as a precursor to organizational meetings, education workshops for professional caregivers, conferences, human resource meetings for local corporations, community meetings and health fairs. The video features four Northern Virginian families affected by Alzheimer's disease: Mac and Billie Showers, Ernie and Sarah Harris, Ginger Pomata and her mother, Edith, and Debbie and Eddie White. The video also features Dr. Jerold Mikszewski, a board-certified neurologist who serves on the Chapter's board of directors, and Governor Jim Gilmore. Gilmore reaffirms his support for the Alzheimer's Association by his recent reactivation of the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorder Commission. The completion of the Chapter video hinged upon the help of many individuals and companies. Our thanks and recognition go out to: Pia Salmre, Channel 33, Arlington Community Television; Cynthia Upson with Upson Communications in Richmond; Gus Soudah, videographer with WNVC; Paul Gourvitz, with Gourvitz Communications, Inc. in New York City; Consumer Electronics Manufacturer's Association (CEMA) and Sunrise Assisted Living Foundation. If your club, organization or place of employment would like a complimentary copy of this video, please call Lisa Dunn at (703) 359-4440 or (866) 259-0042.
