warmup

Each autumn the Alzheimer's Association Northern Virginia Chapter holds Memory Walk -- a scenic walk through downtown cities -- as a visual show of awareness drawing attention to Alzheimer's disease and our Chapter programs and services. There is a registration fee and pledges are optional. Memory Walks are held in two locations: McLean and Fairfax.

Walk in "honor" or in "memory of" a family member, a co- worker or a friend.

Select the walk location of your choice or both. Each Memory Walk offers its own event T-shirt, a pre-walk/run warm-up, the opportunity to walk, plenty of good food, music and exhibitors. Join us for a morning of fun!

Where the Money Goes:

The money raised at Memory Walk stays in our local communities to provide educational programs, training to care givers, services, referral and assistance to families faced daily with the challenges of Alzheimers disease.

The Northern Virginia Chapter serves the following counties: Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Clarke, Frederick, Warren, Rappahannock, Stafford, King George, Fauquier, and Prince William. Including the cities of: Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas Park, and Manassas.

Registration Cost:

  • ages 6 & under and those with Alzheimers disease participate "free of charge"
  • $30 per participant (includes guaranteed event T-shirt, food, entertainment, give-aways)
  • please indicate on your check or registration form which Memory Walks you plan to attend
  • Walk for Free: Recruit 4 additional walkers and you walk free of charge. Just place "free" beside your name and list your other walkers with their address, phone, email (if you have their email info).

Note: Walkers and runners are encouraged to raise or pay a flat rate to register. There are incentive packages, team and grand prizes for the top fund-raisers. Form a team of friends, family, co-workers, your club or organization. Recruit as many walkers or runners as you want for you team.
